BLOSSOMBLUSH – Almond Blossom, Cinnamon Blossom and Jasmine Blossom
Collars, 2026
Foundation, contouring powder, rouge, highlighter, powder, lipstick, fabric collars
A makeup stain on a collar is never just a stain. Women are expected to wear makeup, to transform themselves with foundation, contouring, rouge, highlighter, powder, lipstick, layer upon layer. But the traces of this transformation must remain invisible. The stain becomes something shameful, something to hide.
These marks are stubborn. They resist washing, just as beauty expectations resist change. What society sees as a flaw, as something embarrassing to scrub away, I transform into blossoms.
Using the same materials that left the stain, I create flowers on fabric. The mistake becomes intentional. The blemish becomes a bloom. What was once hidden now blossoms, visible and unapologetic.
